Stim-Free Pre-Workout for Women
Most pre-workouts solve a problem you may not have. If what you actually want is the pump, the endurance and the creatine — without the jitters, the crash, or lying awake at eleven — the stimulant is the part to remove.
The 6pm problem
Caffeine has a half-life of about five to six hours. Take 300 mg at six in the evening and roughly half of it is still circulating at midnight.
You know how that goes. You train hard, you come home wired, you fall asleep late, and the session you were recovering from gets less recovery than it needed. Then you are more tired tomorrow, so you take a little more.
That loop is not a discipline problem. It is a pharmacology problem, and the fix is to stop taking a stimulant six hours before you want to be asleep.
What is left when you take the caffeine out
More than most people expect. Caffeine is the part you feel, which makes it easy to mistake for the part that works.
Beta-alanine buffers the acid build-up that makes the back half of a set burn. It works cumulatively, over weeks, whether or not you feel anything on the day.
Creatine tops up the fuel your muscles use in the first seconds of hard effort. Also cumulative. Also nothing to do with stimulants.
Betaine and magnesium handle cellular hydration and muscle function. Quiet ingredients, no sensation attached.
None of that needs caffeine to happen. It just needs the dose to actually be in the tub.
On the creatine, since it comes up
A lot of women skip creatine because they think it means bulk. It does not. Size comes from a calorie surplus and heavy progressive loading, not from a 5 g scoop.
What creatine draws is water into muscle cells — intracellular, inside the tissue you are training — not the subcutaneous water that softens definition. The research supports strength, lean tissue, bone density and cognition.

Frequently asked questions
Is stim-free pre-workout worth it?
If you train in the evening, already drink coffee, or have built a tolerance you would rather not feed, yes. Beta-alanine, creatine and betaine all work without a stimulant. Caffeine is the part you feel, not the part doing the long-term work.
What is the best pre-workout for women who train at night?
A caffeine-free one. Caffeine has a half-life of about five to six hours, so an evening dose is still substantially in your system at bedtime, and the lost sleep costs you more than the session gained.
Will the creatine in a pre-workout make me bulky?
No. Visible size requires a calorie surplus and months of heavy progressive loading. Creatine draws water into muscle cells rather than under the skin, and the research supports strength, lean tissue, bone density and cognition.
Can I take Category5 with coffee?
Yes. It contains no stimulants at all, so it does not add to your caffeine total. You can also stack it with a stimulant pre-workout if you want energy on top of the creatine and pump ingredients.
Why does pre-workout make me tingle?
Beta-alanine causes a harmless skin tingle called paraesthesia. It fades as you adapt. Category5 contains 1,600 mg per scoop, printed on the panel rather than hidden in a blend.
How long before a workout should I take it?
Twenty to thirty minutes before, in 8 to 10 oz of water.
